IS YOUR CHURCH’S DESIGNATED DELEGATE GOING TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND TAC 2017
AT THE WOODLANDS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH?
This is a question that needs to be answered each year by every church in the Texas Conference. Each church, every year is represented by a member or members who attend the Texas Annual Conference. That member is the one who votes when issues come before the body of the conference. They represent their church members upon the final conference decision. If that church’s delegate does not attend conference, their church does not have a vote to represent them. It is in the church’s best interest to have a delegate or delegates present at conference.
If you are a delegate and know ahead of time that you will not be able to attend, please let your church pastor, or someone in charge at your church know so that they can find a replacement delegate to attend. If this is done ahead of conference pre-registration, the procedure is pretty simple and just a phone call to the district office by the pastor to let them know who the replacement is going to be. This information will be updated and you will be able to pre-register and have a nametag with voting rights waiting for you at conference. If this procedure is not done ahead of time, the person who shows up to register to serve as their church’s delegate must have a signed letter from the church pastor stating that they will be replacing the designated delegate for conference.
Help us to make this procedure as smooth as possible for you as you plan to attend TAC 2017!
